  • To kick off the competition, in 2007 a competition demonstration was held at the American Society of Agricultural & Biological Engineers' 2007 Annual International Meeting, June 17-20, 2007, Minneapolis, Minnesota .

The 2007 Challenge consists of an automated harvesting operation using one harvester and one or more unloading carts. The scenario is as follows: An autonomously guided harvester sends wireless messages to indicate that its bin is full. The task of the unloaders is then to engage the harvester, unload it, and return back to a location where they dump their loads into a bin.
