Mohr’s
Circle – Combined Stress for Example
Construct Mohr’s Circle
for the element on the top fibers of the beam at section a-a ashown below. The maximum normal stress is the principal
stress acting on face “A” of 3750 psi. The maximum shearing
stress acts on a face rotated 45o from face “A” and has a value of 1875 psi (the radius of Mohr’s Circle). Click here for another
example. |
